Black is aiming for multiple threats after Rxf4 => Bd4, Rh1, Kf2 all would be under attack.

Look for un-defended piece, which is e6. Hitting e6 is important because after Rxf4 e6 pawn is freed and Bd4 and Rh1 would be under direct attack. Nf3 can also be played, but better would be to look for a forcing move targeting undefended piece or a checkmate. So,
